Soccer Recap: George Walton Academy Takes a Loss

After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three matches, George Walton Academy finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They lost 7-0 to the Walnut Grove Warriors. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 5-1 to the Warriors when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

With the defeat, George Walton Academy broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-2-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those three contests. As for Walnut Grove, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. George Walton Academy will square off against Hebron Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hebron Christian will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something George Walton Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Walnut Grove, they will take on Cedar Shoals at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cedar Shoals is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.7 goals per game this season.
