Recap: Creekside Christian Academy Cougars vs. Victory Christian Center Kings

The Creekside Christian Academy Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to Victory Christian Center 74-70. While losing is never fun, Creekside Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 98th in Georgia, while Victory Christian Center is ranked 30th in North Carolina).

Creekside Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cedric Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds. Taylor is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. Joseph Reddick was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Creekside Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Victory Christian Center only pulled down 11 offensive rebounds.

Victory Christian Center got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Xavier Perry out in front who scored 19 points along with eight assists and four steals. Another player making a difference was Alius Bowser, who scored 18 points along with two steals.

Creekside Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Victory Christian Center, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Creekside Christian Academy will head out on the road to challenge Konos Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Konos Academy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 53.9 points per game. As for Victory Christian Center, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lake Norman Christian at 5:30 p.m. Lake Norman Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 291 points over their last four matchups.
