Basketball Recap: Exeter Takes a Loss

Exeter has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 74-70 heartbreaker at the hands of the Kerman Lions. The Monarchs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 83-72.

Despite the loss, Exeter still got an impressive performance from Aden Plyman, who went 7 of 13 from beyond the arc en route to 39 points. Plyman's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Andrew Plyman was another key player, putting up seven points and five assists.

It was another big night for Daniel Bibioff, who went 19 for 29 on his way to 50 points and seven steals for Kerman. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which Bibioff has scored at least a third of Kerman's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Von Bibioff, who posted 14 points.

Exeter's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 16-5. As for Kerman, they pushed their record up to 12-10 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Exeter wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 65-31 defeat against Central Valley Christian on the 30th. Kerman has also already played their next game, a 62-53 win against Reedley on the 30th.
