Basketball Game Preview: Bowman Academy Eagles vs. Marquette Catholic Blazers

Bowman Academy is 0-6 against Marquette Catholic since January of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The Bowman Academy Eagles will square off against the Marquette Catholic Blazers at 6:00 p.m.

Last Monday, Bowman Academy came up short against Michigan City and fell 53-41. The Eagles were up 20-6 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Despite their loss, Bowman Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kahlen Robinson, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards, was perhaps the best of all. That was a full 43.9% of Bowman Academy's points, marking the 11th time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Janiyah Jackson was another key player, putting up ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, Marquette Catholic waltzed into their contest on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They snuck past the Eagles with a 43-39 win.

Marquette Catholic pushed their record up to 18-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Bowman Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.

Bowman Academy took a serious blow against Marquette Catholic when the teams last played last Wednesday, falling 65-26. Can Bowman Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
