Soccer Game Preview: Brookstone vs. First Presbyterian Day

Brookstone hasn't had much luck against First Presbyterian Day recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Cougars will square off against the Vikings at 5:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Brookstone came up short against St. Anne-Pacelli on Tuesday, falling 7-2. While losing is never fun, Brookstone can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 105th, while St. Anne-Pacelli are ranked 15th).

Meanwhile, after soaring to seven goals the game before, First Presbyterian Day was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They fell just short of Stratford Academy by a score of 2-1. The loss was First Presbyterian Day's first of the season.

Brookstone's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for First Presbyterian Day, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 14-1.

Brookstone skirted past First Presbyterian Day 3-2 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
