Basketball Game Preview: Vandalia Christian Vikings vs. Gospel Light Christian

Vandalia Christian is 0-10 against Gospel Light Christian since December of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. The Vandalia Christian Vikings are taking a road trip to challenge Gospel Light Christian at 5:30 p.m.

Vandalia Christian is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 20th straight game dating back to last season on Saturday. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 56-50 heartbreaker at the hands of Gospel Light Christian. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 607th, while Gospel Light Christian are ranked 247th).

Despite the defeat, Vandalia Christian had strong showings from Chase Buie, who posted 17 points and eight boards, and Izzi Settle, who earned 17 points and five assists. Buie continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Davis, who scored six points.

The win was the fourth in a row for Gospel Light Christian, bringing their record for this year to 20-8. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 18 points. As for Vandalia Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 0-19.
