Broomfield had won six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they bumped up to 5-1 to make it seven. They breezed past the Longmont Trojans to the tune of 50-7. The contest marked the Eagles' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Broomfield's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Matthew Merilatt, who threw for 228 yards and a pair of TDs on only 15 passes, and also rushed for 38 yards and one score. Another back making a difference was Kashus Clarvoe, who rushed for 109 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries.

Broomfield's run defense was locked in: Longmont could only muster 3.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Owen Lee for the heroic effort on defense: he. Broomfield didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged six.

As for Longmont, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5. They have struggled against Broomfield recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Longmont still got an impressive performance from Joey Foot, who picked up 111 receiving yards and one score. Foot didn't just play on offense: he also made three total tackles and defended one pass.
