Soccer Recap: Richmond Takes a Loss

After flying high against Hoke County last Friday, Richmond came back down to earth. The Raiders fell just short of the Union Pines Vikings by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The contest was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Richmond couldn't quite close it out.

Their goal came courtesy of Mariana Gonzalez, who's now up to five this season.

Richmond has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9-1 record this season. As for Union Pines, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3-1 record this season.

Richmond will take on Lee County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Union Pines, they have already played their next contest, a 7-2 win against Terry Sanford on the 9th.
