Soccer Game Preview: Alton vs. Granite City + How To Watch

The Alton Redbirds will venture away from home to challenge the Granite City Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Alton has given up an average of 3.1 goals per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Alton came up short against Belleville West on Thursday, falling 6-1. Alton have struggled against Belleville West recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Alton's goal came courtesy of Dylan Smith, who's now up to four this season.

Meanwhile, Granite City came into Thursday's match having lost eight straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They never let Gibault Catholic get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Granite City's win bumped their record up to 2-10. As for Alton, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.

Alton suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Granite City when the teams last played back in September of 2024. Can the Redbirds avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
