Volleyball Recap: Layton Comes Up Short

Layton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Farmington Phoenix. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Phoenix this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-19, 25-12.

Sam Pizarro Guiral paced Layton's offense, picking up 12 kills. Pizarro Guiral got some help from Ben Peterson and his 18 assists.

Layton's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Farmington, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Layton will take on Ogden in a tournament on Friday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something the Lancers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Farmington, they will host Pleasant Grove at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
