Basketball Recap: Redmond's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Redmond won the last time they faced Sammamish, and Iha Kasam did her part to make sure it happened again. The Redmond Mustangs walked away with a 56-46 victory over the Sammamish RedHawks on Saturday thanks in part to Kasam, who went 8 of 19 en route to 22 points. Her afternoon made it eight games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Yuki Willis, who posted nine points and seven assists. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.

Sammamish lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Cerise Boyer, who went 6 for 13 on her way to 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Tezi Lyons was another key player, going 5 of 12 en route to 13 points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

The win (which was Redmond's sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-1. As for Sammamish, they dropped their record down to 4-10 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Redmond has already played their next matchup (against Newport - Bellevue), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Sammamish will host North Creek at 5:40 p.m. on Tuesday. Sammamish is facing North Creek at the right time seeing as North Creek is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
