Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Giles). Everything went their way against the Bland County Bears on Monday as they made off with an 8-1 win. The victory was familiar territory for Giles, who have now won five games in a row.

Their offense was hitting Bland County from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Kerrigan Mitcham led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for four goals all by herself.

Giles pushed their record up to 8-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those four matches. As for Bland County, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Coming up, Giles is taking a road trip to take on Fort Chiswell at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bland County, they will square off against Bath County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bland County will be up against Bath County's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.33 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
