Baseball Recap: Lake Highland Prep Makes It Three in a Row at Home

Lake Highland Prep hadn't done well against Orangewood Christian recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Highlanders walked away with a 5-1 win over the Rams. This was a revenge game for the Highlanders: when they faced off against the Rams back in March, they had to take a 16-2 defeat.

Rhys Dellinger spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits.

At the plate, Reilly Diebel was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Lake Highland Prep pushed their record up to 11-14 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Orangewood Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 13-9.

Looking ahead, Lake Highland Prep will face off against Crooms Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Highlanders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. Orangewood Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
