Basketball Recap: Westhill Takes a Loss

Westhill suffered their biggest defeat since February 21, 2024 on Monday. They came up short against the Staples Wreckers, falling 59-36. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Vikings' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

Leading Staples to victory were Adam Udell and Dhilan Lowman. Udell went 8-for-12 to rack up 17 points, while Lowman went 6-for-12 on his way to 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Udell continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Mason Tobias was another key player, putting up ten points and eight boards.

Westhill's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Staples, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westhill will face off against Trumbull at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Staples, they will challenge Ridgefield at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
