Baseball Recap: Batavia Comes Up Short

If Batavia was riding high fresh off their 10-2 takedown of Blanchester on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Monroe Hornets by a score of 3-1 on Monday. The contest marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Batavia saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Patrick, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

Batavia's loss dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Monroe, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

Looking ahead, Batavia will venture away from home to square off against Clinton-Massie at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Monroe, they will welcome Edgewood at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
