Baseball Recap: Shelbyville's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Shelbyville extended their postseason success on Saturday against Groveton. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Indians a 5-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but the Dragons sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

The result came thanks to Tanor Doggett's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gavin McDonald, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Gus Duvon, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Shelbyville's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-7-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Groveton, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 23-6.

As of now, neither Shelbyville nor the Indians have any future games scheduled.
