Softball Recap: Richmond Takes a Loss

Richmond dropped their record down to 4-4 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 10-0 to the Buckfield Bucks. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Bobcats' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Buckfield, their win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12.4 runs.

For Buckfield's part, Cora Brewster was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run. Sophie St.Pierre was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Richmond is set to face off against their familiar foe Carrabec at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Buckfield will challenge rival Forest Hills at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
