Baseball Recap: Las Lomas Gets the Win

Las Lomas took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Miramonte, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Knights had just enough and edged out the Matadors 2-1 on Tuesday. This was payback for the Knights, who suffered a 12-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Alessandro Martinez-Cabrera tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over 5.1 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Las Lomas is 5-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-9-1 otherwise.

At the plate, Las Lomas' victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Izaiah Metzger, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Las Lomas' record is now 12-10-1. As for Miramonte, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.
