Basketball Recap: Churubusco Takes a Loss

Churubusco lost against Eastside back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Churubusco Eagles were dealt a 77-36 loss at the hands of the Eastside Blazers. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 280th, while the Blazers are ranked 17th).

Despite the loss, Churubusco still got an impressive performance from Patty Wiggs, who posted 14 points in addition to six steals and five boards. The dominant performance gave Wiggs a new career-high in steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Churubusco and nudges their season record down to 3-7. As for Eastside, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Churubusco wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 33-28 defeat against West Noble on the 13th. As for Eastside, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 70-18 victory against Prairie Heights on the 13th.
