Softball Preview: Farrell Steelers vs. Sharpsville Blue Devils        
        
		
            Farrell is 0-8 against Sharpsville since April of 2017 but things could change  on Tuesday. The Steelers will look to defend their home field  against the Blue Devils  at 4:00  p.m.
Farrell is headed into Tuesday's   match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game  dating back to last season back in April. They came up short against  Reynolds, falling  16-4.

  Madalynn Harrison was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 1-for-2 with two  stolen bases and one  run. She has been hot for a while, having  posted  at least one  stolen base the last nine times she's  played.
Sharpsville came out on top against Wilmington  on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Blue Devils put the hurt on the Greyhounds with a sharp  9-1 win. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by eight  runs or more this season.
 Jordan Brest spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on nine hits.
 On the hitting side,  Izzie Candiotti was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI. That's the most  runs  she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was  Lily Palko, who  went 2-for-3 with one  home run and two  runs.
 Sharpsville  lost a few balls and  finished the game with three  home runs. They are  a perfect 6-0 when  they post two or more  home runs.
 Farrell's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Sharpsville, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.
Farrell's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's   game. The Steelers have been swiping bases left and right this season,  having  averaged 4  stolen bases per game.
