Basketball Recap: Ramah Comes Up Short

Ramah lost against Laguna Acoma back in January of 2018 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Ramah Mustangs were dealt an 80-27 defeat at the hands of the Laguna Acoma Hawks. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 57-16.

Leading Laguna Acoma to victory were Brianna Carrillo and Gianna Carrillo. Brianna went 9 of 14 on her way to 20 points and four blocks, while Gianna posted 22 points. The dominant performance gave Brianna a new career-high in blocks. Jazmyne Carrillo was another key player, going 5 for 7 en route to 13 points.

Ramah's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-11. As for Laguna Acoma, they pushed their record up to 14-7 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Rehoboth Christian the next time they take the court. Ramah will head out to face Rehoboth Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Laguna Acoma will host them at 6:00 p.m. on February 11th.
