Baseball Recap: Henley Wins Going Away Against the Dalles

Henley owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They blew past The Dalles Riverhawks 8-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hornets.

Mark Carpenter made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Henley is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 1-2-1 otherwise. Carpenter was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

Carpenter wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Carson Siems, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Henley's record is now 4-2-1. As for The Dalles, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5.

Coincidentally, Henley and The Dalles will both be playing North Marion the next time they take the field. The Riverhawks will head out to face the Huskies at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Hornets will head out to face them at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
