Basketball Recap: Lely Comes Up Short

Lely lost against First Baptist Academy back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lely Trojans fell to the First Baptist Academy Lions 62-58. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 361st, while the Lions are ranked 95th).

Lely's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for First Baptist Academy, they pushed their record up to 15-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home.

Lely will square off against Gulf Coast at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for First Baptist Academy, they will challenge Harvest Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
