Basketball Recap: Warren County Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Kolten Golden and Ethan Bare

Warren County lost against Sherando back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Warren County Wildcats took a 57-42 bruising from the Sherando Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 341st, while the Warriors are ranked 150th).

Warren County's loss came despite strong showings from Ethan Bare and Kolten Golden. Bare went 5 for 11 to rack up 12 points and six rebounds, while Golden posted 14 points and five boards. Those 14 points gave Golden a new career-high. Liam Clark also deserves some recognition as he posted his first blocks of the season.

Warren County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Sherando, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-8.

Warren County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 51-50 loss against James Wood on the 6th. Sherando has also already played their next contest (against Liberty), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
