Basketball Recap: Olympia Comes Up Short

Olympia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost to the Athens Warriors on the road by a 55-38 margin. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 476th, while the Warriors are ranked 233rd).

Athens found their leader in sophomore Ava Bee, who went 8-for-13 to rack up 20 points and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bee has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Addie Stadsholt, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds.

Olympia's defeat dropped their record down to 4-24. As for Athens, they pushed their record up to 17-12 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Olympia does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Athens, they will face off against Williamsville at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
