Basketball Recap: Fort Bend Dulles' Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Friendswood, Fort Bend Dulles was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 49-46 win over the Memorial Mustangs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Vikings have posted since November 12th.

Fort Bend Dulles was led to victory by Jaylen Koovakada and Jayden Redhead. Koovakada went 7 of 11 en route to 20 points, while Redhead went 7 for 16 on his way to 18 points and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Koovakada has scored at least a third of Fort Bend Dulles' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tracy Minter, who posted four points.

With the win, Fort Bend Dulles broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-8. As for Memorial, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Dawson the next time they take the court. Fort Bend Dulles will head out to face Dawson at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Memorial will play them later in the day, at 10:00 a.m.
