Basketball Recap: Danny Wrzensinski Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Minooka

Nazareth Academy won the last time they faced Minooka and things went their way on Monday too. The Nazareth Academy Roadrunners wrapped up 2024 with a 60-45 win over the Minooka Indians.

Nazareth Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Danny Wrzensinski, who went 9 of 13 on his way to 19 points. What's more, Wrzensinski also racked up three assists, the most he's had since back in January of 2024. Eddie Austin was another key player, going 7 for 11 on his way to 14 points and six rebounds.

Nazareth Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Nazareth Academy's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-8. As for Minooka, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-8.

Nazareth Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 65-42 victory against Aurora Central Catholic on the 4th. As for Minooka, they will take on Aurora East at 6:30 p.m. on January 8th.
