Soccer Game Preview: Sissonville vs. Poca

The Sissonville Indians will venture away from home to square off against the Poca Dots at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Sissonville is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Point Pleasant just ended the team's three-match winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 6-0 to the Big Blacks. Having soared to a lofty five goals in the game before, Sissonville's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Poca's offense. They came up short against Sherman on Tuesday, falling 8-0.

Sissonville's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Poca, their loss dropped their record down to 5-13.

Sissonville was able to grind out a solid win over Poca in their previous meeting back in September, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
