Wilson (West Lawn, Pa.) snapped
Central York (York, Pa.)'s 5-game winning streak, with a 35-10 victory on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by
Matt Timochenko to
Dominic Nigrelli in the second quarter, the Bulldogs led 21-3 at the half.
Wilson expanded its lead to 32 points entering the fourth quarter. WHS scored two times in the third, including once on a
Jim Brooks touchdown run.
The West Lawn school put up 21 points in the second quarter en route to the win. The Bulldogs scored on a touchdown pass by Timochenko to Nigrelli, a touchdown run by Brooks and a Brooks touchdown run in the quarter.
Corey Hartz made a difference for the Panthers. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown. He has now scored three touchdowns on the season.
Wilson's most effective player was Brooks. The senior wide receiver ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored 14 touchdowns on the season.
Central York's lone touchdown came on a 24-yard pass in the fourth quarter.
CY came in surrendering 17.2 points per game this season. The York school struggled against WHS's offense, which entered the game scoring 31.5 points per game. The Bulldogs went into the matchup giving up only 5.9 points per game. The Panthers' 10 points were well below their season average of 35.3 per game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Central York, which notched a 33-28 victory over Chambersburg in its previous outing.
