East Rowan waltzed into their contest on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came out on top against the North Davidson Black Knights by a score of 10-5. The Mustangs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Black Knights, too.
East Rowan got a great performance from Tyler Hill as he tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits.
At the plate, Harrison Ailshie and Krys Hernandez did most of the damage at the plate: Ailshie scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Hernandez scored a run while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Mason Phelps, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
East Rowan's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for North Davidson, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Rowan will challenge West Rowan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. East Rowan knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully West Rowan likes a good challenge. As for North Davidson, they will square off against Montgomery Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Montgomery Central's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so North Davidson's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
