Basketball Game Preview: Grants Pirates vs. Valencia Jaguars

Grants and Valencia are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but not for long. The Grants Pirates will face off against the Valencia Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Grants is headed into the matchup having just suffered their closest loss since January 3rd on Saturday. They fell just short of Wingate by a score of 47-44. The contest marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Valencia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 66-52 bruising from Belen.

Grants' loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Valencia, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-13.

Grants beat Valencia 51-38 when the teams last played two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for Grants since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
