Baseball Recap: Western Albemarle Find Success

Western Albemarle took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Fluvanna County, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Warriors came out on top in a nail-biter against the Flying Flucos on Tuesday, sneaking past 10-9. With that win, the Warriors brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Jack Connelly was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Connelly was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jay Miller, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024.

The victory got Western Albemarle back to even at 3-3. As for Fluvanna County, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Western Albemarle will take on Goochland at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fluvanna County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Liberty Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Flying Flucos surely won't give up without a fight.
