Basketball Game Preview: Wheatland Pirates vs. Center Cougars

Wheatland hasn't had much luck against Center recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Wheatland Pirates will head out to challenge the Center Cougars at 7:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Wheatland is headed into Wednesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game on Friday. They were dealt a 72-37 loss at the hands of Marysville. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1164th, while the Indians are ranked 351st).

Meanwhile, Center was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against Lincoln, falling 87-61.

Wheatland's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Center, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-13.

Wheatland suffered a grim 64-40 defeat to Center in their previous meeting on January 8th. Can Wheatland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
