Basketball Game Preview: Alsea Wolverines vs. Mohawk Mustangs

The Alsea Wolverines will challenge the Mohawk Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Tuesday, Alsea ended up a good deal behind Mapleton and lost 48-32. The defeat continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Sailors: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, Mohawk was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 42-35 to Crow, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Mohawk's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Alsea, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.

Alsea was able to grind out a solid victory over Mohawk in their previous meeting back in January, winning 61-52. The rematch might be a little tougher for Alsea since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
