Softball Game Preview: Addison Trail Blazers vs. Naperville North Huskies

The Addison Trail Blazers will venture away from home to take on the Naperville North Huskies at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Addison Trail will be strutting in after a victory while Naperville North will be coming in after a loss.

On Friday, Addison Trail needed a bit of extra time to put away Downers Grove South. They had just enough and edged out the Mustangs 6-5. The win was familiar territory for the Blazers, who have now won three contests in a row.

Meanwhile, Naperville North might've scored the first runs on Friday, but it was Kaneland who claimed the real prize. The Huskies fell 4-1 to the Knights.

Ava Matthews spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Naperville North saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddi Larsen, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Addison Trail's victory bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Naperville North, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-17.

Everything went Addison Trail's way against Naperville North when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Addison Trail made off with a 10-1 win. Do the Blazers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Huskies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
