Baseball Game Preview: Tempe Buffaloes vs. Desert Sunrise Golden Hawks

The Tempe Buffaloes will head out on the road to square off against the Desert Sunrise Golden Hawks at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Tempe is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Coronado with a sharp 19-9 win on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Buffaloes.

Meanwhile, Desert Sunrise had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by an 18-6 margin over the Colts. That 12 run margin sets a new team best for the Golden Hawks this season.

Isaac Sanchez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Desert Sunrise is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 3-4-1 otherwise. Sanchez was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Desert Sunrise got a massive performance out of Aaron Sanchez, who scored three runs and stole six bases while going 1-for-1. Alejandro Porras was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing five bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Tempe picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 3-9. As for Desert Sunrise, the win got them back to even at 5-5-1.
