Basketball Recap: Lee Academy's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

Lee Academy entered their matchup against Carolina Academy on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Lee Academy Cavaliers took a 45-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Carolina Academy Bobcats. The Cavaliers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bobcats earlier this season, when they won 35-20.

Despite the loss, Lee Academy still got an impressive performance from Mazie Tomlinson, who posted seven points in addition to 26 rebounds and three steals. Tomlinson is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least nine every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jameson Collins, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Lee Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 11 consecutive games.

Lee Academy's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4. As for Carolina Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-7.
