It was a good run, but Tulare Western unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Dinuba Emperors by a score of 3-2. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Emperors earlier this season, when they won 2-0.
Tulare Western actually scored more points across those five sets (104-89), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 12-25, 25-22, 25-23, 12-25, 15-9.
Dinuba got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Delilah Rangel out in front who had 22 kills. Those 22 kills gave Rangel a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maylyn Martinez, who had six aces.
Tulare Western's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Dinuba, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-10.
