Softball Game Preview: Orange Beach Makos vs. West Blocton Tigers

The Orange Beach Makos will take on the West Blocton Tigers at 8:45 a.m. on Wednesday. Orange Beach will be looking to extend their current 14-game winning streak.

Orange Beach is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Opp. The Makos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 34 matchups by six runs or more this season.

KG Favors made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

In other pitching news, MK McMullan looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Teagan Revette, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 13 games. Katie King was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for West Blocton's offense. They fell 4-0 to American Christian Academy on Wednesday. The Tigers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Orange Beach's victory bumped their record up to 43-2. As for West Blocton, their defeat dropped their record down to 30-14.
