Baseball Recap: Leake Central's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Leake Central came into Thursday's match having lost nine straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past the Newton Tigers 14-2 on Thursday. The Gators' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last nine games.

Leake Central's win bumped their record up to 2-10. As for Newton, they are on a 21-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, Leake Central is taking a road trip to face off against Choctaw Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Newton, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 14-0 loss against Taylorsville on the 28th.
