Baseball Recap: Discovery Spartans vs. Mulberry Panthers
Discovery proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by eight) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over the Mulberry Panthers. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 5-4 victory back in March.

Evan DeVore was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Discovery: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-8 otherwise.
