Softball Game Preview: Fairless Falcons vs. Malvern Hornets

The Fairless Falcons will take on the Malvern Hornets at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Fairless has given up an average of 9.7 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Fairless fell victim to Manchester and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Panthers, falling 14-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Falcons in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Malvern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 13-4 to Hiland.

Izzy Warth stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 2-for-4 with three RBI. Skye Harmon also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Fairless' defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Malvern, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Fairless took their win against Malvern in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 23-10 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
