Basketball Recap: Saint Mary's Comes Up Short

Saint Mary has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 61-50 to the Salesian College Preparatory Pride on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 149th, while the Pride are ranked 22nd).

Saint Mary's loss dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Salesian College Preparatory, their win was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-2.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Saint Mary's Panthers take on the Albany Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Salesian College Preparatory, they will square off against Bethel at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
