Basketball Recap: Gilead Christian Comes Up Short

Gilead Christian's tournament run continued when they took on Atlantic Christian on Thursday. The Gilead Christian Eagles took a 53-38 bruising from the Atlantic Christian Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 577th in Ohio, while the Cougars are ranked 229th in New Jersey).

Gianna Flynn continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Atlantic Christian, dropping a double-double with 26 points and ten boards. The dominant performance also gave Flynn a new career-high in steals (eight). Isabell Alford was another key player, putting up ten points and eight steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Gilead Christian and nudges their season record down to 12-10. As for Atlantic Christian, the victory got them back to even at 12-12-1.

Coming up, Gilead Christian and Christian Community will face off at 10:30 a.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. As for Atlantic Christian, they will have a chance to turn things around after yesterday's loss to Cumberland Valley Christian at 10:30 a.m. on Friday after yesterday's loss.
