If Central Valley wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Lathrop, they should've done a better job of containing Ayden Petroff. The Spartans blew past the Hawks 3-0 on Wednesday thanks in part to Petroff, who had 22 assists and eight aces. She is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 17 or more in each of the last ten games she's played.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Lathrop was: they took every set by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-9, 25-14.

Lathrop's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Justine Mabutas led the charge by getting eight digs and two aces. Another player making a difference was Jadore Dixon, who had seven digs and four aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Lathrop was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 25 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in 11 consecutive contests.

Lathrop has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Central Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.
