Basketball Recap: Manatee Takes a Loss

Manatee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 49-33 to the Sarasota Sailors. The match marked the Hurricanes' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Leading Sarasota to victory were Paisley Binswanger and Natalie Richard. Binswanger shot 4-for-7 from deep and dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds, while Richard went 5 of 12 on her way to 15 points and four steals. Binswanger's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Manatee's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Sarasota, their victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-4.

Manatee didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-44 win against Palmetto on the 10th. As for Sarasota, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 61-41 loss against Riverview Sarasota on the 12th.
