Volleyball Recap: Wilton Takes a Loss

Wilton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Darien Blue Wave, falling 3-0. The Warriors were not able to make up for their loss to the Blue Wave from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Wilton was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Darien work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 26-24, 25-14.

Darien found their leader in sophomore Marlene Davis, who had 13 digs and two aces. Davis is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last eight games she's played dating back to last season.

Wilton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Darien, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Wilton will challenge rival Greenwich at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Darien is set to square off against their familiar foe Stamford at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
