Soccer Game Preview: Central Cabarrus vs. Butler

The Central Cabarrus Vikings will face off against the Butler Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams each escaped with close wins against their previous opponents.

Butler will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Central Cabarrus extended their winning streak to six on Friday. The Vikings never let Carson get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. Given Central Cabarrus' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 126th, while Carson are ranked 273rd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Central Cabarrus' one-goal win came courtesy of Alexandria Colligan, who's now up to 14 this season.

Meanwhile, Butler sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over East Mecklenburg on Tuesday.

Central Cabarrus' victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3-1. As for Butler, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7-2 record this season.
