Football Recap: Tuscaloosa Christian Falls Short Against Ranked Cornerstone Christian

Tuscaloosa Christian faced Cornerstone Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Warriors took a 49-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. On the bright side, the 44- point performance marked the Warriors' highest-scoring game to date.

Jess Nelson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 287 yards and five TDs while picking up 17.9 yards per carry for Cornerstone Christian. With that strong performance, Nelson is now averaging an impressive 116 rushing yards per game. Colby Harrison was another major influence, as he rushed for 80 yards and ran in a TD.

Tuscaloosa Christian dropped their record down to 0-5 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Cornerstone Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
