Recap: Ripley Tigers vs. Brighton Cardinals
The Ripley Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Brighton by a score of 41-38. Ripley lost against Brighton in their previous head to head back in November, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 40-24 score last time.
Leading Brighton to victory were Jayla Jones and Destiny Pruitt. Jones scored 10 points, while Pruitt scored 14 points along with 5 steals. Pruitt has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played.
Ripley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Brighton, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.
Ripley will be playing in front of their home fans against Dyer County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dyer County will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line. As for Brighton, they will head out on the road to face off against Middle College at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Middle College presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Brighton in Tennessee (Middle College is ranked 24th, while Brighton is ranked 259th).
